Andrew Breitbart using the
headline "Shock
Photos: Candidate Obama Appeared And Marched
With New Black Panther Party in 2007," hopes
to widen the gap of racial inequality and
project the image, that the New Black Panther
Party and our National Chairman, Attorney Malik
Zulu Shabazz are the source of injustice and
corruption in America. Breitbart alleged
that at the 07’ march
in Selma, Alabama then-Senator Barack
Obama was
“joined by a group of Panthers who had come to
support his candidacy.” This is an outright LIE and
distortion of the truth.
What Breitbart purposely avoids is the
documented fact of several thousand people
marching and rallying with us. The march was
not an
event to “support the candidacy” of then-senator
Obama, the event was the 42nd anniversary of the Selma,
AlabamaMarch
for voting rights. A
celebration of Black people, who resisted
peacefully, an attack by law enforcement at the
Edmund Pettus Bridge
Andrew Breitbart points out that
President Obama is not "a secret member the New
Black Panther Party”, but he twist the facts for
the purpose of a smear campaign against us in
the New Black Panther Party and our National
Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz. The fallacy of
Andrew Breitbart and the distortion of truth
appear to be an overt attempt to hurt President
Obama’s reputation and his chances at
re-election.
Breitbart
sets the tone to New Black Panther Party
opponent, J. Christian Adams new book Injustice:
Exposing the Racial Agenda of theObama
Justice Department. Anticipated
release October 4th,
one day from the release of the Breitbart attack
on the New Black Panther Party. Andrew Breitbart
a supporter of J. Christian Adams reportedly
wrote a commentary found on the back of the book
and Adams thanks Breitbart in the
acknowledgements saying he [Breitbart] is his "soul
brother and pied piper."
Breitbart
presented that then-senator Obama was "joined
by" the Panthers, “marched with" them, and “used
the same podium", but fails to shed light that
"then-Senator Hillary Clinton and Reverend Al
Sharpton were in attendance as well. To add to
this fact, then-senator Hillary Clinton’s spoke
approximately a block away at a nearby church.
Andrew Breitbart with his
devilish nature and tactics refuses to
acknowledge that thousands of people marched
with the civil rights community in remembrance
of a painful chapter in the history of Black
people in America. The march was not attended by
then-senator Obama, or the New Black Panther
Party alone, but by several thousand there to
make a statement. As reported by The Birmingham
News covering
the event,“Former
President Bill Clinton and presidential hopefuls
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama locked arms
with civil rights icons Sunday and marched
through thousands of well-wishers, crossing the
Edmund Pettus Bridge to cap the 42nd anniversary
Right to Vote and Bridge Crossing Jubilee.”

Invited speakers to the
celebration did include then-senator Obama and
Our National Chairman, Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz.
Both men spoke about the struggles of Black
people from their respective positions and of
course had to use the same rostrum. Both men
participated in the scheduled march across the
Edmund Pettus Bridge that hosted thousands. Both
men recognized the historic moment taking place.
Andrew Breitbart provided a
photo, from a still video frame, which altered
suggested that, the New Black Panther Party, Dr.
Malik Zulu Shabazz and then-Senator Obama,
"departed together for the main march itself":
The full version of the unaltered
image clearly shows Mr. Obama walking several
feet ahead of Atty. Malik Zulu Shabazz and the
staff of the New Black Panther Party, [Obama]
within a different crowd altogether.
Andrew Breitbart continues in on
this devious path and attack, raising the
question of our logo placed on an Obama campaign
website, deceptively asking, "Who posted the
Panthers' endorsement on the Obama campaign's
website, and at whose instructions?” I [Chawn
Kweli], Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz and several other
news sources have spoken on this question
extensively. The Washington
Times even reported
in 2008,” awebsite
named my.barackobama.com, allowed
users to set up their own blog pages, and the
Panthers themselves put up the endorsement.”
While it is true a New Black Panther supporter
did put our parties logo on the website, the New
Black Panther Party never officially endorsed
Barack Obama for President. We opted only to
refrain from unjustly criticizing his policies,
positions, or platform until we were clear on
the direction he was taking. The Obama campaign
once made aware of the logo on the site, removed
it, and did not accept it as an official
endorsement.
Andrew Breitbart reaching for a
backdoor connection using an unknown guest of
the White House named Malik Shabazz saying, “I
have been calling for the White House to
disclose which Malik Shabazz visited the private
White House residence on July 25, 2009, two
months after the DOJ voter intimidation case was
dismissed. So far, the White House has refused
to do so, leaving open the question of which
"Malik Shabazz" appears in visitor logs released
to the public.” Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz is a
visible and known leader of the New Black
Panther Party; with photographers, cameras, and
the public always ever watchful of 1600
Pennsylvania Avenue if ever Dr. Malik Zulu
Shabazz visited the White House it would be
widely reported. Andrew Breitbart is a lying
snake, decrepit looking devil, intent on
slandering the positive accomplishments of the
New Black Panther Parties, leadership, members,
and supporters by presenting unsubstantiated
smoke and mirrors as factual. Dr. Malik Zulu
Shabazz and the New Black Panther Party are
presently involved in a sixty-city mobilization
called, the
Day of Action Movement. The Movement is
forcing members of the black community to pick
themselves up, clean-up our communities and be
responsible. The movement started on April 23 rd and
most recently
convened October 1st.
We operate now in America, South Africa, London,
England, Toronto, Canada, and Jamaica. For his
crimes, Andrew Breitbart should be
[metaphorically] chased down and confronted for
his poorly written contribution to the
journalism community and misrepresentation of
the Black struggle. |
